Slowly rousing myself from sleep I realise the first thing that is on my mind is the lake, and the boats and the beautiful gold and blue light that streams through into the room, I had been dreaming about us being there and I miss it already.

I actually love that you behave in the way that you do, you're honest and wonderful. And I was not getting on at you at all for it" he whispers pulling his own phone out, I briefly notice that our picture is his wallpaper and I smile. I watch him as he changes his socials to a picture of us and try to hide the beaming smirk on my face. He pulls me in and kisses me softly before we leave the car and walk up to the psychology block, other students filter past us but he pulls me closer almost into his chest as we walk with his arm around my shoulders.

Lost in conversation we walk the halls as he holds me closely opening doors for me, eventually we reach the lecture hall. Climbing the familiar steps together as I notice a group of guys look over at us smiling and talking to one another animatedly. Jay glances down at the steps and I rack my brain for clues as to who they might be. One of them has long dark hair and he eyes me almost sympathetically, the other two look just like Nate in that they have eyebrow piercings and dark hair. I briefly wonder who they might be, and their interest in my relationship to Jay, until I see Ross watching me walk in with him draped around me. A pained expression on his face that he quickly removes standing up to smile at me.

Ross blanks Jay but greets me instead as we take our seats next to him, Luckily the lecture starts promptly so nobody has to talk to anyone for more than two minutes.

Jay settles his arm around me, I hadn't realised that he was so tactile. Our little weekend escape has unlocked this side to him that I find irresistible, he occasionally strokes my hair back and I relax sitting with him.

"I know I'm lucky" I smile at him, mentally checking off all of the things on my to do list for the day. Moving into my dorm, driving my car from Ross' to campus and seeing Matthew to catch up. I figure I owe him a face to face discussion and that's exactly what I plan on doing.

The remainder of the lecture flies by and I think continually about Jay, his hands around me and the constant need I have to be with him. I worry about sleeping in my new dorm without him but tell myself that I am doing the correct thing, no rushing into living together that has never ended well for me before.

At the end of the lecture Jay pulls me into his arms and kisses me like he said he would and then I stand to walk out. Ross and I agree to sort my stuff out later once I've seen the room and like it. He assures me that my stuff is fine at his and that there is no such rush to move it. I smile at him thanking him again and I give him a big hug feeling like our friendship is still intact. I watch as he walks off to English before turning back to Jay.

"We can always go to the lake instead" he giggles as I pull him along with me. The housing office supplies me with a key card, it will give me access to both the house and the bedroom that is mine. The kitchen will be a shared space and so will the living communal areas. However the lady assures me that I will have my own ensuite. Turning the plastic key card over in my hand I work out that the house is in block D, rose-view and that my door number is forty four. Jay glances at the name and recollection dawns on his face before he guides me out of the office.

Having settled the bill for my first month’s payment, we stride down the collection of identical houses on our way to rose-view. It’s like walking on almost any suburban street in America, lush green lawns and wooden porches that lead up to the oak doors. Only here there are no people over the age of twenty five in residence.

"Think of it as a holding place for my stuff" I say to Jay who is accompanying me, eyeing the houses as we stop outside a large three floor home, with a white wooden porch and a red door. Taking a second glance I’m sure that this is the house where we attended the party weeks before, although I cannot be sure as every house seems to look identical.

The electronic card reader beeps and lets me in once my card has been scanned. I smile opening the large oak door and step into a huge explosive hall, just like the one at the party, that leads to the open plan kitchen. To the right is the living area, I peek around the door and notice the collection of sofas and the large open fireplace. To my left is the staircase that presumably leads to the dorms. We climb the tiled steps and eventually reach the hall on the first floor.

Walking over the carpeted corridor o notice that the bedroom doors are all identical white wooden doors with card readers. Jay locates number forty four and we stand outside realising the kitchen and downstairs area will be a good ten minute walk.

I place the card on the reader and hear the bolt disengage as I push the door open. Revealing a medium sized bedroom with a large window, standard blinds have been fitted for privacy as my bedroom looks out directly into another dorm. The bed is a double, facing the window, a small wooden headboard which reminds me of a child’s room. There is a large wooden desk under the window sill for studying and a decent mirror on the wall.

It’s carpeted with a medium grey carpet, the room contains a dresser and a wardrobe which both match the medium oak bed frame. The ensuite is a small cupboard like room which will most definitely beat walking along that hall to find a bathroom. It is equipped with a small working shower, Jay tested it out for me. Smirking and retrieving his hand when the water ran cold. A small vanity sink and toilet which have all been cleaned and scrubbed.

Taking a seat on the bed quietly I mentally prepare myself for shopping as I list up the items I need to buy; like towels and sheets. It strikes me that I’ve lived with my friends for so long that I haven’t had to purchase anything and so I do not have my own duvet or bed spread.
