The blur of the emergency room rushes past me, Jay was seen too almost immediately considering he had a blow to his head. Matthew and Ross had to pull him in through the parking lot, one arm over each of their shoulders. Now we're waiting, sat in plastic chairs under the glaring lights which are just far too bright. Sobering me up almost instantly.

"He is stable Taylor. He's breathing and will be fixed up" Matty reassures me for the third time. Ross has gone to get some drinks from the hospital shop downstairs a somber look on his face as he left. Matthew pulls me into an embrace and I dont fight him, the cowgirl hat rested over my lap as I rest my head in his neck and cry. He rubs my side like he used to, fingers trailing up and down from my hips to my ribs.

The hospital layout is confusing and unfortunately we had to walk past the maternity clinic on the way in here. I had kept my head down and securely away from glancing in. Myself and Matty heard our unborn childs heart beat in the clinic whilst we were expecting. We also lost our child here following a miscarriage. Once we left we were not the same again.

Matthew kisses my neck very softly, his lips just grazing at my neck as I feel his breath on my skin. I place my hand on his cheek lightly and he moans slightly against my neck. A small sound that tells me he needs me. I sigh and hug him tightly. I greedily hold him into me, my arms encompassing him like they used to. Feeling his familiar body next to mine gives me comfort. He sighs and visibly relaxes his lips softly kissing me over and over. Then I release him.

"Miss? Is it Taylor? He is awake and asking after you" a nurse says and I jump. Turning to the older lady I pull my hands from Matthew as he helps me to stand. With Matthew's hand rested on my lower back we walk into the small hospital room.

Jay is laying back on a hospital bed, white sheets stained red from the blood that has dripped down onto them from his hands and his head. He looks at me with puppy dog eyes as I stare down at him before kissing his lips.

Just as I stand out in the smokers area, next to a young couple who are rowing with one another, I pull my phone out and dial up the only cab firm that I know. Waiting on the line for the call to connect I spot Rachel heading in, she's hard to miss in her cowgirl get up as she stands beside me waiting for me to end the call.
