All of the shops are what my mum would call millionaire shops. Or in other words for people who can afford expensive stuff. We have ambled around an art gallery with prints that Jay has eyed up. Him talking to me about each print and making me laugh. Even though the sun is glorious today there’s a chill in the air, and so I’ve pulled on one of his cashmere jumpers letting it swing around my hips alongside my dance tights and boots it passes as a very chic dress. I was pleased with the outcome of my outfit choice, without my own wardrobe and so I called myself a fashionista in the mirror before joining him in his Audi this morning.

Currently we’re standing in a very fancy dress shop, having done some light clothes shopping for the remainder of the weekend at the lake house. I’ve bagged a plaid skirt that Jay very much approved of. These gowns though are another thing, I dare not look at the price tags, sometimes you just know when something costs a lot of money.

The fabrics are thick and well crafted. Jay stands slightly behind me as I peruse the racks contemplating colours and necklines. Eventually I select a backless black one that Jay boggles at and a claret red strappy gown that looks very femme fatale. Jay chooses a gown that is maroon and we head over to the changing area.

Sitting Jay down on the fancy velvet chair outside of the changing suite, he grins at me as I walk away with the dresses, pull the drape over and begin to change. Being that his jumper is so baggy on me I hadn’t even bothered with a bra this morning, I slip the black satin number on and glance in the large mirror. Picking it apart before I head out for his reaction.

Slipping the black garment off I place the claret red one on next. It’s rather strappy and shows too much, for a date. For a dorm party it’s a winner though. My chest heaves out of the front as the material drapes down to the floor.

“Honestly I think it’s a bit much” I laugh walking out from behind the curtain, as his face lights up. A cheeky grin falls over his lips.

Fearing the worst, that no dress will work, I head into the changing room and slip on the maroon gown that he picked. The satin material is silky and smooth as I glide it up my legs and the neckline, a classic sweetheart compliments without being too much. I smile brightly looking into the mirror before turning to show him.

Guiding me over to the counter we place the items on the side and the young clerk eyes me inconspicuously, perhaps she believes a girl that hangs around with a guy such as Jay should be clad in Louis Vuitton. Shes not entirely wrong, I think to myself as I glance down at his jumper draped around my small frame.

I protest him buying me the dress to which the clerk looks at me utterly confused before he smiles and hands her his bank card. Armed with the white luxury shopping bags we walk arm in arm back to the car. I notice that he holds the door open for me before placing the bags on the back seat of the Audi.

Jay makes a fire once we arrive back, the fancy shopping tires me out and so I lay on his upholstered sofa set and sink into the velvet cushions. Jay is so affectionate, he doesn't stop touching me. Kissing me and holding me as we talk and spend time together.

"Okay let's think about it" I say concluding, reminding myself of how I rushed into things with Matty. We were everything to each other so soon, and then it ended in heart break. I take it all as a warning, to not rush into any big decisions too hastily.

Jay joins me in the wet room, initially he had been showing me how to operate the fancy high tech shower. Looking over at the jacuzzi we shared this morning and smiling to myself.

He climbs in the back next to me making sure that I’m buckled in before we set off. The driver cruises across the lakeside and Jay holds onto my hand in the back as I gaze over the water.
