The very moment we walk back into the kitchen together I see his face, eyeing her up and searching my face for a reaction that I will not give him. He takes a look at her lips that he just kissed secretly in the garden before smiling to himself and sipping his brandy. Picking another battle with him is unnecessary I think to myself as I watch him go all in with his bet on the poker. He's likely to win, if there's one thing I know about Matty it is that he doesn't go all in without some assurance that he will win. And against Ross, Nate and Justin teller I'm sure that he has managed to outsmart the lot of them. I taught Matthew how to play poker, won against him enough times to know that he has learnt every single trick in the book.

Taylor takes a seat next to Rachel on the sofa, wedging herself between Justin and Ross. I pour her another glass of Prosecco and hand it to her before retreating to the sofas and intending to hit the brandy hard. Taking a seat alone and pouring myself a glass I marvel at how once it would have been inconceivable for me to be in this position, in love with a girl. I stare out into the grounds pouring another shot, wondering how I have found the love of my life after all of my own sins. It’s practically karma that she would kiss her ex whilst I'm upstairs fixing her shelf. I had never imagined that I would fall in love, let alone forgive a girl of any indiscretion especially ones that involve an ex boyfriend who happens to be my best friend.

The guys cheer and it breaks my concentration as I gaze over my shoulder watching Taylor briefly pulling her top off as she's lost the first round of twenty one. Nate wins the round smiling as he chucks his cards in the middle. Everybody is at the end of their layers apart from Taylor, I avert my eyes as the other guys take their jeans off.
