The following morning, we both miss our alarms laying in each other's arms in his soft sheets. Light streaming through from the skyline where if you look out of the windows you can see right through the landscape, the wilderness just beyond the cityscape. Gazing over at Jay, even with his busted lip and nose he is perfection. I lightly stroke his face as he whinces slightly. He kisses my lips slowly and despite our lateness we get carried away straight away. His hands exploring and touching me everywhere and me being delicate with him so as not to hurt his injuries.

Having washed and sorted out my long rib length hair I step into a black dress and my own boots rather than the cowgirl ones. Bouncing down the hall and the stairs I breeze into the kitchen taking in my shirtless boyfriend as he smiles up at me.

"I'm kidding, the only place I like more than this is the lake house" I tell him and he smiles warmly. I remind myself of the views over the lake and the large open spaces. The tranquility and the calm, most importantly the time we can spend together with no interruptions. Looking up at him I realise he's watching me think, it's Friday today and we have one day of uni before the weekend where we can be alone together.

Wrapped around one another we head to the elevators determined to get to university rather than bunk the entire day, it was an option that flitted through my mind. Imagining us relaxing for hours alone, me reading one of his many books and him hugging me tightly into his chest. Eating lunch together on the sofa and watching the world go by.

However, as Jay parks up at university we head over to the refectory realising everybody will be eating lunch. Striding in, hands entwined in one another's as we walk over to the long table at the back where Matthew, Ross and Rachel are seated.

We end up making love to one another again in my dorm room before he has politics and I have dance, despite our friends judgements of our relationship we are stronger than ever. I've never heard Jay say he loves anybody in front of our friends, not with any of his previous girlfriends did he declare that he loved them. I am different and I am an exception to him.

As he lounges on the bed naked only covered by the duvet, I watch over him pulling my clothes back on before I decide whether to bunk dance or not. My body wants to be around him all of the time, I am completed by him. Pulling on a red brandy Melville dress which has thin little straps, I begin going through the clothes and belongings from Matthew's. Deliberately leaving out the sports bag that I know holds the most sentimental items from our long standing relationship. The shirt I wore whilst pregnant, the ring he placed upon my fingers.

I kiss him for a prolonged amount of time in the foyer before heading into class, my body instantly missing his as I begin warming up and performing some plies and leg extensions independently as it appears none of my classmates turn up to practice anymore. It’s a free studio space session and they have assumed that it’s a waste of time. It gives me the upper hand, working solely in the studio on my technique without interruption.

Strolling through the foyer over to the changing rooms, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end as I begin to feel like somebody is watching me. Looking up and paying attention to my surroundings I spot Nate's reflection looking out at me from the gym. Wearing a loose tank and holding a large dumbbell. His face marked up in a horrifying way. Hurrying along I push my way into the changing room door and pull my red cami dress on, leaving my hair in a messy bun wishing to flea the building quickly in case Nate decides to approach me.

The air hits me when I leave the building and I pull my jacket around my shoulders as I stumble through the dark over to the field that leads back to the parking lot. Imagining Jay giving me an all encompassing hug when I reach him. Rather than focusing on the chill in the air and the goosebumps on my skin due to Nate, his cold expression and sore looking eyes. The uneasy feeling of being pursued creeps up on me and I quicken my heels pushing through the grass underfoot.

I hear footsteps behind me, and hastily block them out. I need to just get to the car. Just a little bit longer through the field and I will be there with Jay. We will be on the way to our home to enjoy a whole weekend together. I'm thinking of his arms and his beautiful scent. His warmth and his chest. His complete safety.

Nate wishes us a good night and sulks off, into the chaos of the party before we climb into the car. Starting it up, driving away together from all of the drama and complications of yet another university party. Jay smiles over at me when we’re on the highway and brushes my thigh with his strong hand.
