Taylor is frying up steak in a bikini, I'm perched on one of the bar stools in our kitchen watching her. The others are playing some kind of drinking game, but this woman is pure art in front of me. He sips his whiskey again, looking down into his glass again. Weve come to blows several times, we've hit out at each other, I mean we've even hospitalised each other from fighting. Now though I'd like to think we can see past fist fights. Besides I already won.

He glances at me, and he's such a peacekeeper I know that if anything escalated he would stop me from punching up Ross. Which is probably for the best.

Ross grabs the wine and pours some in. It doesn't help that he's shirtless and so I'm inadvertently squaring myself up to him. Yeah he's bulked up a whole load in the past year, but I can take him. I'm stronger, taller and my traps are bigger. Yeah, petty. I won't be doing any such thing.

"So there's medium rare times three" Taylor says and my anger dissipates. She places a medium rare steak in front of me, one for Ross and the last one for Matty. I love eating her food, she is top notch at cooking. I eye up my steak and she smiles at me. Dare I say it, but she's a better cook than my own mother. I would never admit that to my mum though, not unless I wanted to start something. Which I don't.

I lock eyes with her as she's opposite me, her eyes watch mine. She knows how drunk I am, I can see it on her face but she loves me all the same. And I'm very lucky. She swoops her hair back, every detail interests me about her.

Taylor's cooking is wonderful, and we all eat quietly even Rachel. Thankful that Rachel shuts up for just long enough for me to enjoy my food. I finish first, the whole thing, I never leave any of her food. I sit back and have another whiskey. I cross one of my legs over the other knee and pull my hair back. Taylor looks at me hungrily and I smile at her. Usually she would be in my lap. We don’t do physical distance well.
