Untimely; it's my word of the week as I stumble through the dense fog from the car, the grey clouds and the spattering of rain. Although beautiful it is untimely for it to rain when I'm trudging through thick mud in louboutins, he had warned me about the weather in fall but I had refused to rein myself in, imagining auburn trees and falling leaves and getting soggy fields instead.

Just ahead as I wipe my damp hair off of my face I take in the home. A home in every sense of the word to make my own. Circular drive with a large front door, memories of him swarm my mind and I count as the rain spatters down over my face. Counting in my head I push my feet forward and take myself in the direction of my future.

Ivy wrapping up the scattered stone building, flowers lining the windows. I count the floors, one, two, three and not forgetting the roof top. White sash windows and gentle light behind the glass panes. The gravel crunching under foot as I reach for the knocker. A brass iron door knocker that clinks on the door as I stand back waiting patiently for the agent to answer. It's chain free, which had been important for a swift purchase.

"Good afternoon madam" a tall man answers, dressed in a suit. A dapper look about him with coiffed hair and a British accent. I look up at the wrinkle lines around his smile, he's a professional. He introduces himself as Clive, and I smile shaking his hand.

"Here for the viewing" he chuckles moving aside and allowing me to enter the vast hall. Light wood parquet flooring and a white wooden coat rack with a bench. A homely feel to the place that I wrap myself up in, the scent of amber and patchouli.

"Yes" I sigh pushing my wet hair back and smiling.

"There's two reception rooms, a large kitchen and dining space, conservatory, amazing grounds" he informs me and I smile.

"You have an accent may I ask where you're from?" He says showing me into the first reception room. It's large and I think of Ross sitting by the fire, collecting wood for me and keeping my house warm.

"Originally California" I say feeling distant from my own life.

"More recently Italy" I explain and he nods, eyes widening. I squash thoughts of the farmhouse, nights that turned dark and cold over the summer days of my life.

"Ohh where in Italy!?" He asks enthused and I shake my head informing him that I lived in Perugia for over five years. Detailing the sun and the pool. The vineyard that we turned into a fruitful company. The tennis courts and not to forget the wine cellar. As I look up from the pattering of rain on the sash window, he watches me lounging on the wall amazed by my story. It's almost as though it isn't true. Sometimes it feels unreal to me, like I dreamt the whole thing up. Except when I look into Henry's eyes and see Jay, I know that it all happened.

"Yes it's a special place in the world and it will always have my heart" I explain as he shows me through to the kitchen. My louboutins clink over the tiles as I take in the marble and the gas stove. The traditional sink with a sash window that looks out over the grounds. I imagine a small swing set and children playing in daisies. The small pond at the bottom will need to be fenced off I think as I clutch bump. Holding the fabric of my dress and smiling. It's indiscernible as of yet, the baby merely a cluster of growing cells.

"I'll take it" I turn smiling and looking over at the man with his folder. His wise eyes watch me and I nod with a grin, this is our home.

"But you haven't seen the rest of the property, the roof top" he smirks and I sigh.

"Oh it just feels right every woman knows by the kitchen whether it's her home or not- you should know that" I laugh and he shakes his head. Handing me papers that I flick through, once it had been my dream to own property and now it's my reality.

"Feel free to wander" he says as I clasp the documents and nod looking around the kitchen first before climbing the stairs and looking through the master bedroom. Everything checks out and I cannot leave without looking at the rooftop- the absolute selling point. Like a castle in the centre of the British countryside, a walled off roof with turrets. It's a beauty. I sigh remembering him before smiling and wiping the rain away from my face. Looking at the moon and stars briefly and making peace with my past life.
